The Wildfire Elementary Turkey Trot is a perfect event to promote health and fitness in a fun way while raising money to support educational programs for our students. This year, the Turkey-Trot will be a school day flat pledge-based event where students will seek pledges in flat amount(s) for their overall activity. All students will participate in the event with a warm-up exercise, run/walk, cool-down stretch, and a refreshing snack. Each grade level will have a set time to run, and the goal is for the students to complete as many laps as they can during that time.
Every student, teacher and staff member will receive a Turkey Trot shirt to wear the day of the run. It’s a great shirt to wear for Wildfire spirit days throughout the school year too! The shirt also gives us to an opportunity to acknowledge our sponsors and celebrate the event.
The Turkey Trot is one of our larger fundraising opportunities for the Wildfire Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and a great opportunity for school spirit. Having a successful Turkey Trot helps the PTO support our students, teachers, and staff. The PTO funds help pay for field trips, technology in the classrooms, educational programs during the year, instructional supplies, and teacher requests. The PTO also puts on a few social functions throughout the year to help build community at Wildfire Elementary.
Please come out and cheer your child(ren) on!
